“Morning is a fragile time. Every day begins in a different way. Sometimes you wake up in a good mood, sometimes low-spirited or even sad. Early one morning, while sitting in the kitchen with my first cup of coffee and fliping an old silver spoon back and forth in my hand, I had the idea of capturing the different moods of my mornings. As a silversmith, I would naturally do it in silver. The most important one became the old spoon that I held in my hand that morning. And so it was that HAPPY MORNING was born, where I “grew” a whimsical and happy whirlwind of white freshwater pearls and golden spheres onto the handle of the spoon in place of the head.” – Ane Raunam at the A-Gallery exhibition MEMORY CARDS (2019)
