In addition Sille Luiga has also studied in Italy and Belgium. Luiga works as a freelance designer under the pseudonym Sile Luik and creates original jewelry series. With her self-made objects, she plays with ideas of adornment and ornamentation on a broader scale, through the prism of absurdity.
The brand Sile Luik uses commonly regarded materials, at times considered banal, to create conceptually charged contemporary jewelry. Among the latter, the earrings made from elongated copper cents, titled ‘TWO CENTS,’ have gained popularity.
Sille has had exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad, including design weeks in London, Paris, Valencia and Venice. Her works are part of the permanent collection of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, as well as various private collections.
