Anne says that she always creates jewellery with joy — and it shows. Alongside her work as a jewellery artist, she also teaches at Viimsi Art School. Since 1988, Anne has participated in exhibitions in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, England, and Ireland. Her jewellery is worn all over the world.

———————————————————————————————-

I wanted to become a jewellery artist already when I was a little girl. My family teached me to love our small and especially dear homeland, our wise people, our exciting culture, art, literature. In art university we had wonderful teachers, to whom I am very grateful.

I love my work very much and although making jewellery is rather time-comsuming, I do it with delight. When making jewellery, I tell myself an exciting story of our daily lovely life. It includes wisdom and efficient operation, custody and protection, love and gratitude. Jewels always support us! – In the book “A-Gallery. Estonian art jewellery gallery for 20 years” (2014)

———————————————————————————————–

“My animals started out as endangered species. Bears, white-tailed eagles, flying squirrels. I’ve had staring matches with a wolf and a bear. The bear’s gaze was very unexpected, it burned a hole in my soul. It must’ve been in distress, since it was caged. After all, you don’t put a person in a cage. The essence of a bear is interesting: a bear knows what needs to be done and does it. This truly fascinated me. We often know, that we will never get to completing certain deeds.

Once there was a client, who chose very modest cracked sapphires into a piece of jewellery. While working on them, I suddenly was hit by an arrow of light – the stone was suddenly like a ray of sunlight, there was so much love inside it. A luminosity passed through space. It was such a lovely gift. We are all connected, that is the most important; that connection. Not as part of a chain, but in connection.”– Anne Roolaht at the A-Gallery exhibition MEMORY CARDS (2019)

["post-33510","artist","type-artist","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
