With this I attempted to summarize the theme really fascinating me – sculptural performance jewellery. I’ve been strongly influenced by the movement “New Jewellery“, which tried to free jewellery from wearability. Jewellery performance and play with dimensions was very innovative output for jewellery artists in the beginning of 1980s and it had impact on the whole generation. Strangely enough, I was born in the same period – in 1982. Probably it was the spirit of an era, which returned later.

I started work in the studio on the third floor at Hobusepea 2 (also known as the room of 10 artists) in 2008 and since then I have been connected also with A-Gallery. I still do not know the actual essence of jewellery, but something forces me to operate further in this speciality. The fight will continue.- In the book “A-Gallery. Estonian art jewellery gallery for 20 years” (2014)

“My work materialises from negative space. Everything starts with a line drawn. Graphics become wearables. The necklace born of emptiness and orthogonal silver wire bends around the collar, seeking contact with the wearer. Its lenslike form is meant to mimic the neck while preserving a certain sculpturality and litheness. A simple clean line represents a longing for the void.” – Kadi Kübarsepp at the A-Gallery exhibition MEMORY CARDS (2019)

["post-33570","artist","type-artist","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
