Anne Järvpõld (b. 1958 in Jõhvi)

1982 SAIE

I studied 1977–1982 in the speciality of metal decoration, my graduation project was a set including copper tray, jug and sugar bowl. In 1982 I started work as an artist in Tallinn City Museum, where I am still working. In the beginning my duties were drawing of exhibits and performing of simple design tasks, sometimes cleaning of the items of the silver collection of the museum, but now I design books, advertising publications, outdoor advertisements, exhibitions etc – as necessary for the City Museum and its branches. With jewellery I can deal only in my spare time, which has been in short supply in recent years.

I try to maintain connection with my speciality, working in a common studio in the evening. My favourite technique is embossing. I like quarrystones – I have cut them and used in the jewellery. I try to complete my jewellery so that the wearer would feel satisfaction, connection with the item. – In the book “A-Gallery. Estonian art jewellery gallery for 20 years” (2014)
