Ilona Treiman

Ilona Treiman is a jewellery, metal artist and pedagogue who uses various materials and techniques in her work. Her works are characterized by a sculptural approach. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in metalworking (1984), is a member of the Estonian Artists’ Union, belongs to the Designers’ Union Ornamo and the Finnish Artists’ Union. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions since 1985, including Cincinnati USA (1989, -91), Limoges, France (1990, -92, -94), Tokyo 1992, traveling exhibition of Baltic and Nordic enamel art (Denmark-Finland-Sweden 1991), Beijing , Denmark (2004) and Applied Art Exhibitions in Tallinn and Moscow (1985-91). Also in Berlin (2005, -16), Seoul in L-Korea (2011) and with a solo exhibition in Finland at the Hyvinkää Art Museum (2012). In 2019, she was awarded the annual prize of the Estonian Metal Artists’ Union named after Ede Kurrel. Her works are in the collection of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, the Nordic Museum in Vaasa and in private collections in France, the USA, England, Finland, Denmark and Italy.

In 2021, Ilona had an exhibition FIRE in the Vault of the A-Gallery.
