On Thursday, November 11, at 18:00, Taavi Teevet will read works from his collection of poems SINGLE COPY (AINUEKSEMPLAR) in A-Gallery. The poetry that has been given the form of contemporary jewellery exists only during the exhibition period in A-Gallery’s VAULT 29.10–26.11.2021.
In addition to presenting his poems, Teevet will share the origins of the exhibition and talk about his creative journey in an artist talk lead by literary critic Hele-Mai Viiksaar. The event will be held in Estonian.
SINGLE COPY is a poetry collection that never leaves the print shop, since it will never be printed. This poetry collection can not be found on the shelves of bookstores and it is not available for loan at libraries. The poems are given the form of jewellery by combining the techniques of laser engraving and acid etching. In his texts Teevet looks at the world from a very personal perspective, focusing on his memories, problems and sensorial-philosophical discoveries.
Taavi Teevet (1996, Saaremaa) is a young metal artist focusing on the journey into his inner world and on analysing relevant sensorial experiences, related issues and discoveries. He has a Bachelor’s degree in jewellery and blacksmithing from the Estonian Academy of Arts.
