Kätrin Beljaev

Kätrin Beljaev (1982) graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2015 (MA supervisor Prof. Kadri Mälk) and continued his education in Florence and Porto. She has participated in various exhibitions in Estonia and elsewhere in the world. As a freelance artist, she has been awarded with the Young Jewelry Foundation Award (2016) and her works can be found in the permanent exhibition of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design.

Kätrin Beljaev’s work stands out with organic and archaic forms that she uses both in her unique jewellery pieces and small series. She combines unique and romantic materials with stories, to create wearable art pieces.

“My passion is to follow rules of nature and channel them into the objects. I like positive and romantic vibes and I trie to share them by creating beauty with a dark accent, “ says Kätrin.

Most of her jewellery pieces had begun from her drawings and formed by different materials and technologies to a complete design. Every piece is slightly different because every one of them is handmade and marked with her signature.

Kätrin has had two solo exhibitions in A-Gallery – BERBERIS VULGARIS (2016) and A FEAST IN THE TIME OF PLAGUE (2020).
